Rochgate Cottages - Pembrokeshire Holiday Cottages

Rochgate Cottages is a small family run business at the heart of the Pembrokeshire coastline. We have three holiday cottages set around a courtyard, close to the owners house, in the village of Roch.

Pembrokeshire

Pembrokeshire is recognised for its spectacular coastline and is the UK’s only coastal National Park. There are many exceptional beaches as well as 186 miles of coastal footpath. In recent times a range of sea based activities have become increasingly popular with surfing, kite surfing, island boat trips and coasteering all available in the local area. In addition, Pembrokeshire is renowned for its historic buildings, particularly its castles, and its inland scenery is also well worth exploring.

Roch

Roch is located at the centre of St Brides Bay and the beaches of Newgale (1.5 miles) and Nolton (2 miles) are both in very easy reach. This central location means that the village is ideal for exploring all that central and north Pembrokeshire have to offer, whilst still being relatively close to the amenities of the county town, Haverfordwest. In addition, the village has a well stocked shop and Post Office and a small pub. There is a surfshop, good cafes and a family friendly pub at nearby Newgale. A choice of other local beaches including Druidstone Haven, Broad Haven, Little Haven and Solva can all be found within a 5 or 6 mile radius.

Much of Roch is reasonably modern but there has been a village here since the 13th Century and the skyline is still dominated by the historic Norman castle. There is also a pretty 19th Century church in the village.

Rochgate

Rochgate itself is shown on local maps going back at least 300 years and was once a farm. Two of the buildings were converted for holiday accommodation in the 1980’s with the barn a more recent renovation.
